Australi follows the story of a young desert boy, Maloo, who has just stolen a large gemstone and is now on the run through the Great Red Desert. Unbeknownst to him, he has now set in motion an ancient prophecy that will save Australi. 

In 2015, Australi Kickstarted their 32 page BIG first issue, raising $23,000. It was a huge success for a team who hadn’t created comics before.

Now though, they are taking on an even more ambitious project and raising $65,000 for their 200+ page first volume. The new book will cover issues 1-6 and will include an art section of all the sketches and process work.

The fundraising target has been set much higher this time to cut down on the overall cost of production, and save on shipping costs for backers, which would otherwise be higher if Australi had chosen to produce each issue one at a time.
